Thursday, January 31, 2008 - Falcon 2000 Version 5.0 is Windows® Vista Compatible
Falcon 2000 is the access control software for the Falcon Base Unit. As of this release, Falcon 2000 is compatible with the Microsoft Vista platform, while maintaining compatibility with Windows XP SP2 or higher. If upgrading to Falcon 2000 version 5.0, please note the system requirements listed below. All existing features and functionality remain the same in Falcon 2000 version 5.0 as in version 4.6.4 with the exception that the system status reports button no longer automatically brings up the list of system reports. These reports must now be selected individually from the reports menu. Additionally, due to Microsoft security features, each time the application is launched, users will be presented with a notice that a “potential security concern” has been identified. This notice can be ignored. To obtain a Falcon 2000 version 5.0 CD or system download, please contact technical support. Shipments of Falcon 2000 software beginning February 1, 2008 will be version 5.0 software. If you are already using Falcon 2000 software, updating to version 5.0 is not necessary unless you migrate to Windows Vista. Only customers needing to upgrade to Windows Vista should update to Falcon 2000 version 5.0. Please Note: This update does not include or guarantee compatibility with the Windows Server 2008 operating systems or any other Microsoft operating systems or related service packs released after Windows Vista.

PTI is pleased to announce the release of TaskMaster Central Office Web Viewer software to beta testing. The TM Central Office Web Viewer is an add-on module for the Central Office software. TM Central Office Web Viewer allows Central Office users view-only access to their site’s customer account information, individual site reports, and consolidated site reports via a web browser. Please Note: If you are interested in becoming a beta tester for the TaskMaster Central Office Web Viewer, please contact Technical Support.
To ensure that PTI provides a product that meets our customers’ needs and security requirements, the TMWeb Central Office software will remain in product development to determine final product requirements. StorLogix and QMS Version 2.2 provides a number of usability enhancements and improves the operation of the program on older and/or slow-running computers that do not meet the current minimum system requirements. Please Note: PTI recommends that software only be installed on computers that meet or exceed the minimum installation requirements.
Customers who are running StorLogix or QMS version 2.0 or newer can use the “Check for Updates” feature in the Help section to receive the update. Customers will also be able to download the update from the FTP server. Please Note: Two versions of the update are available: a complete install, required for any customer using versions prior to 2.0; and an update version, which can be used on customer computers with version 2.0 and newer installations.

The Chamberlain Group, Inc. announced today that it has acquired Digitech International, Inc. of Asheville, North Carolina, as part of its ongoing growth plans in the integrated access control industry. The announcement was made by Chamberlain Chief Executive Officer, J. David Rolls. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. For over twenty years, Digitech International has been a leader in developing and marketing access control and security systems for the worldwide self-storage industry. Products include automatic gates and keypads, video surveillance and recording systems, door alarms, site graphics, and onsite communications systems. "Digitech's security products, talented employees, and customer base complement Chamberlain's business and enhance our ability to deliver compelling integrated access control solutions," said Rolls. The Chamberlain Group, Inc. has appointed David Mack as general manager of its wholly owned subsidiary, PTI Integrated Systems of Scottsdale, Arizona. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing all company operations, as well as developing new strategies for future growth. This Saturday, PTI threw a party to show our new building and announce the release of our newest product lines. Guests included City of Scottsdale Councilman Robert Littlefield and many representatives from our customers, vendors, and other companies in our industry including U-Haul, Minico, Inside Self Storage Magazine, and many others. Guests and their families were treated to a fantastic catered dinner and drinks as well as many fun activities including raffles, games, door prizes, a DJ, and even Laser Tag.
